Installation steps of AS ABAP

Before these steps you have to configure operating system for SAP Installation. If you have already configured your operating system than proceed with these steps.

On this page I am mentioning all the steps, from next page I will post every step with screen shots. I hope this will help you people alot for learning.


Copy all the DVDs mentioned below to the hard disk.

1 – Media requirement:

a) Installation master

b) Installation Export

c) Kernel

d) Maxdb rdbms

2 – run sapinst from instmaster linux folder:

3 – it will start sap gui for installation

4 – go to “central system” in “maxdb” under “sap application server” in “sap erp 6.0 ehp4 ready support release 1”

5 – choose “run a new option” and click “next” (this step is added for the installation which is once stopped and started again due to any problem otherwise go to next step.)

6 – choose “Typical” and click on next

7 – choose “next” or choose the path for installation

8 – enter master password and click on next

9 – enter database id, database host should be server name database id should be same as sap id and click on next

10 – give path of installation export

11 – choose the folder of installation export

12 – give path of maxdb rdbms

13 – choose the folder of maxdb

14 – choose the option “file system” and click on next

15 – give path of uc kernel

16 – choose the folder of kernel

17 – we don’t have sap crypto library so we have to uncheck install the sap cryptographic library

18 – after uncheck sap cryptographic library click on next

19 – in the end it will show “parameter summary” if you want to change any parameter you can choose it and to back and change it. If no change required than click on next

20 – it will start installation and ask for “solution manager key” enter the key and click on next

21 – it will start installation and take approximately over night
